The Sight Selector™ Lite by Advice Media, LLC. (Advice Media) and ViSU-L GmbH (ViSU-L), is an application for use by eye care professionals to help demonstrate various eye diseases, conditions and treatments to their patients. These programs are not meant to serve for definitive diagnostic purposes nor as a substitute for clinical judgments.

Sight Selector Lite Application only includes the “Anatomy of the Eye” topic. Once you download the Free Anatomy topic, you will have the ability to purchase additional topics within the application’s in-app store. Each individual topic within the app allows doctors and counselors to educate their patients using 3D images or narrated videos. The topics are divided into nine categories: Cataracts & IOLs, Refractive Errors, Laser Vision Correction, Wavefront Guided Procedures, Wavefront Optimized Procedures, Conventional LVC Procedures, General Ophthalmology, Cosmetic and Optical.

In addition, the application provides the user the ability to draw on the 3 D images, create and save video playlists and add their own custom videos to playlists. Only the Sight Selection Subscription App has the additional function of being able to print handouts of each topic via a wireless printer and customize the App within your device with your practice name. Pricing of individual topics varies based on the complexity of the topic.
Also available is our Sight Selector Subscription App which is an annual subscription that allows you to download all available topics for a yearly subscription fee. Any new topics created during your subscription period are also included. Only the Sight Selector Subscription App has the added capability of allowing you to print handouts of each subject via your wireless printer and customize the App within your device with your practice name.

Pros and cons of Sight Selector Lite app for iPhone and iPad

Sight Selector Lite app good for

Awesome Tool for Eyecare Professionals and for educating People!
Fantastic Images. Very useful for explaining the Eye and its structures.
I have my practice in Germany and constantly looking for patient education material. By accident, I read an article in the Eyeworld magazine about the Sight Selector and i downloaded the lite version. I was surprised by the quality of the images and the video of the anatomy. So I purchased a couple of the topics I offer at my practice. Allthough I cannot really use the video because of the english audio, I am more and more using the images to explain some issues with my own language. My patients like this new method a lot and it seems they better and instantly understand instrad of explaning with words a lot longer. Anyway,I can recommend this tool to use it with patients.

Some bad moments

The topics working with the current version do not work as it is not compatible wit iOs8. Do not waste your money.
Beautiful animations, but charged me $5 for a 14 second video on presbyopia, and it barely described anything!! Should be MUCH cheaper, or include more. Not worth the money for each and every patient ed video. Wish I had my 5 bucks back
The Sight Selector app is a must-have for any ophthalmology practice. Patient education in the practice setting has always presented its challenges. Now our docs and techs can carry education materials anywhere on an iPad, iPhone or iPod. Our patients seem to enjoy the "hi-tech" presentations of information about their eye conditions and available treatments. And our staff can choose whether to present the terrific video content, or they can talk the patient through a series of excellent 3D stills. From IOL options for cataract patients to astigmatism treatment for LASIK candidates, Sight Selector covers a wide range of topics. The app even covers the spectrum of general opthalmology topics and some cosmetic procedures. You pick and choose which topics apply to your office. Practical in form and intuitive to use, we highly recommend Sight Selector for your practice!
This app is extraordinary! Fraction of the cost of Eyemagination for visually stunning, well written videos. I use in my exams via iPad and also bought the website version. Great company to work with, good phone support. Zero problems. Best app I have ever bought (Premier version). Dont hesitate!
If you make in app purchases, you will not loose them when you upgrade your iPad to a newer version. I purchased several and after upgrading to iPad 4, the in app purchases were gone. Tech support emailed detailed instructions for retrieving the in app purchases. Got them all back. That said, the videos were very good when explaining eye conditions to patients. Now I no longer have to draw pictures on the back of my exam forms. I just whip out my iPad and start the video. Only con is price of add-ons.
